Online Language programmes for corporations +
Description
Our Online Courses is a special category of our Corporate Training that is offered to provide companies the solution for their ever-growing number of employees who need greater flexibility in their language learning. We offer these courses in any language needed.

  • They consist of live and interactive one2one lessons - or even group sessions of up to 3 participants - with a highly trained Native Speaker Instructor in any language of the participant’s choice.
  • The procedure is simple - they are conducted over an Internet Communicator, with the use of an Interactive Whiteboard and a shared desktop, which enable the teacher and student to share the same visual prompts during the lesson. Materials used vary from course-books to articles, PPT presentations, grammar exercises etc.
  • They are effective - each lesson is recorded and sent to the students to be revised as often as desired. Thus students acquire a comprehensive audio archive of all their lessons. Finally, notes of each session are written by the instructor to ensure the students obtain a record of all the subject matter taught, explained and corrected during the course.
  • Available evenings and weekends - students can choose to book their lesson via our “Booking Platform” (even just 24 hours before start time) and cancel it free of charge up to 3 hours before in case something urgent comes up - thus providing the ultimate flexibility for a hectic work schedule.
  • Clients nominate - our Online Lessons are provided in 45, 60 and 90 minute duration depending on the needs and standard practice of the client.

Main benefits
  • Tailor-made courses with individual objectives for each participant to ensure the desired results.
  • High flexibility: These courses accommodate very busy schedules since lessons can be taken from home, at the office or during a business trip.
  • Time-saving: HR is not required to coordinate employee schedules, book classrooms or equipment, and participants do not need to commute.
  • Low costs: These courses do not require classrooms, books, classroom equipment etc to be provided by the company. Our fees are all-inclusive.
The low functional cost is transferred to a low end fee, and as a result these courses are significantly cheaper than average in-house training fees.
  • Simulating business contexts: The sessions can simulate a business conference call or a meeting, offering excellent opportunity for the practice and development of business communication skills over the phone. Invaluable practice for confidence building.
  • Solution to remote areas: Individual employees can be accommodated with highly experienced Native Speaker Instructors no matter how remotely they are based, without the need for a local provider.

Content of sessions
  • For each participant a course with end-objectives is designed for maximum benefit. We first conduct a thorough Needs Analysis with the aim of designing an individual Syllabus.
  • The content of the sessions can be accessible by the HR representative and is monitored by the Academic Coordinator.

Significant student follow-up
Each individual participant receives the following after every lesson at no extra charge:

  • An Mp3 recording of the lesson. (Thus a lesson can be revised as often as desired.)
  • Summary Notes from the teacher. (An explanation of the items covered, including grammar, vocabulary, corrections etc.)
  • Homework upon agreement.

For the HR Department the programme also includes:

  • A designated Academic Coordinator
    • The high calibre of our services is also due to the unique, hands-on role the Academic Coordinator plays.
    • Each client has a single point of contact, the designated Academic Coordinator, responsible for the effective execution of the Programme for all participants.
    • The Academic Coordinator works closely in cooperation with the company’s HR Department, making sure the corporate training objectives are met.
  • Quarterly Reports
Our teachers fill out monthly reports on the work and progress of each participant.

The Academic Coordinator reviews the reports and submits term reports to the client.

Managers receive a complete picture of the progress made, as term reports contain information on:

  • Attendance
  • Commitment
  • Participation
  • Work & Progress Results or Examination Results
  • Objectives
  • Overall progress (following the CEFR levels & criteria)

Content of sessions
For each participant, depending on age and interests, a special course is designed for maximum benefit. For children we can follow the Clil (Content and Language Intergraded Learning) approach, by which they learn the language through school subject matters (such as history or geography).

Significant student follow-up
Each individual participant receives the following after every lesson at no extra charge:

  • An Mp3 recording of the lesson. (Thus a lesson can be revised as often as desired.)

  • A headset with a microphone
  • Note: a webcam is not required

How it works
The participant needs to contact LTGS by email expressing the intention to learn a language and get assigned an academic coordinator (academic@ltgs-international.com). The next steps are the following:

The participant is asked to give some information about him/herself, including age, mother tongue, present level of knowledge, learning habits and learning targets.
A list of available teachers is then provided and the participant can book his/her first lesson by looking into the teacher’s availability. ("Book a lesson")

Greek language programmes for Greek expatriates +
Description
Our Greek online synchronous Programme consists of live one2one lessons with a Greek Native Speaker instructor. They are conducted over online communicator and with the use of our Interactive Whiteboard. The frequency of the lessons and the schedule of the course is determined by the participant.

Curriculum
For each participant, depending on age and interests, a special course is designed for maximum benefit.

For adults
The course covers all skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and a variety of different materials is being used, adapting fully to the needs of the participant: articles, texts, videos, literature, grammar exercises, Youtube clips, Course-books and Work-books etc

For children, depending on age, the course is adapted to:
a) Pre-school education (no reading and writing, only listening and speaking)
b) Primary education. For children of the ages between 6 and 14, the Greek language course may contain school subject matters (such as history or geography). In this way, the children not only learn the language but they also develop the necessary vocabulary and knowledge pertaining to all significant aspects of Hellenism. (for more about this approach see : Clil, Content and Language Intergraded Learning, http://ec.europa.eu/languages/language-teaching/content-and-language-integrated-learning_en.htm.

Significant student follow-up

  • Summary Notes from the teacher. (An explanation of the items covered, including grammar, vocabulary, corrections etc.)
  • Homework upon agreement.

Quality assurance
Each individual participant is assigned to an academic advisor, responsible for the quality of the programme and the progress of the participant. The academic advisor follows up on the course in the same way as if the course was conducted at a language school. The advisor receives monthly progress reports from the teacher and submits to the participant termly progress reports. The advisor can “enter” the class at any time for class observation and monitors the lesson recordings. The participant is free to contact the academic advisor at any time for any issue that he or she wishes to discuss. Finally, the academic advisor is responsible for collecting regular feedback from the participant in order to guarantee customer satisfaction.
